R&D Internship

Cultured Decadence is creating novel methods to make crustacean products using cell culture and tissue engineering techniques. In support of this work, we are seeking an intern who is highly motivated, embraces novel ideas, and will employ innovative thinking to advance the research and development of cell-cultured meat. 

 

You will be a pioneer in an emerging industry and contribute to creating solutions to address the growing demand for sustainable seafood products, reduce the environmental impact of current production methods, and increase access to seafood for consumers around the world.

Key Responsibilities ​

  • Work directly with CSO and Senior Scientist to execute a range of experiments using methods of molecular and cell biology

  • Develop, implement and interpret relevant cell-based functional assays to support isolation, optimization and characterization of novel crustacean cell lines

 

Preferred Skills and Background

  • PhD/MS candidate or recent graduate in molecular biology, biochemistry or related field

  • Experience in one or multiple of the following areas

    • primary cell culture (mammalian, insect, marine)

    • genetic engineering (single-cell genomics, CRISPR/Cas9, NGS)

    • bioprocess engineering

    • tissue engineering

    • crustacean/marine biology

  • Strong organizational, time management, written and oral communication skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
